Concept of the category of "national security": theoretical and legal analysis

Introduction: New challenges and threats have changed the content and focus of the Russian Federation for ensuring national security. The government, focusing on the optimal development of social relations, creating security mechanisms. This category in the national sphere has its own characteristics. The article discusses the concept of the category of "national security." The author analyzes the existing approaches to the definition and content of the concept of "national security." Insufficient knowledge of this phenomenon dictates the need to continue studying the topic. Objective: To identify the relative strength and the rights at different stages of historical development. Methods: The methodological framework of this study constitute a set of methods of scientific knowledge, among which the main place is occupied by the methods of historicism, systematic, comparative legal method. Results: Based on the analysis set forth the author's definition of national security. Conclusions: The author concludes on the need to consolidate the conceptual, legislative and regulatory provisions to improve the legislation in order to achieve a state of security for the individual, society and state, territorial integrity and sustainable development of the Russian Federation at the present stage.
