Annotation: Introduction: this article investigates the issues related to the definition and characteristics of the autonomous extralegal normative order in the sphere of sport, the genesis of this concept, as well as the interaction between the specified sports order and public order. Purpose: to analyze various theoretical approaches to the establishment of autonomous extralegal normative order in the sphere of sport as a separate phenomenon present in scientific literature; to investigate the issue of recognition of the existence of such order in the state practice through fixing the relevant norms in legislation. Methods: in the present study a set of methods of scientific cognition is used, including the following: the method of analysis, formal-legal method, method of synthesis, comparative method. Results: the authors have found that the issue related to the interaction between the autonomous extralegal normative order and public order is of great current importance, as well as the issue of enhancement of the sports order independence. Furthermore, rules aimed at regulating this interaction in legislations of foreign countries (a case study of Italy) have been found. Conclusions: basing onthe core features of the autonomous extralegal normative order in the sphere of sport as well as on the types of its autonomy’s manifestation, the authors concluded that public policy often recognizes the existence and independence of the sports normative order.
